Catford’s Jewish Living Experience exhibition

The launch of the Jewish Living Experience Exhibition was attended by the Mayor of Lewisham, Brenda Dacres, president of the Board of Deputies, Phil Rosenberg, local Councillors, the Archdeacon of Lewisham and Greenwich, SACRE representatives, Board of Deputies representatives, educationalists and volunteers.

The Exhibition is running for two weeks (4-15 November) in the Shul’s club hall, and expects to have around 400 children attending from Lewisham primary schools.

The exhibitions encourages the hands-on experience for children to blow the shofar, write in Hebrew, see Torah scrolls, matzah, tefillin, kippot, shabbat candles, sit in the Shul, eat in a sukkah, and much more.

The children and their teachers are guided round the exhibition by volunteers from the Shul who help to explain what they are looking at.
