Chanukah

One of the most widely celebrated Jewish festivals around the world, there is much more to Chanukah than eating doughnuts and exchanging presents. Check out the articles below which explore this special festival.

This year (2025/5786), Chanukah begins at nightfall of Sunday 14 December and ends with nightfall on Monday 22 December (so that the final lighting is on the night of Sunday 21 December).

We light candles for each night of Chanukah to particularly commemorate the miracle of the oil, following the service on p. 732 in the green/blue siddur.
