Celebrating ladies Bat Mitzvah at Chigwell
On Sunday 15 March, a truly moving and meaningful milestone was celebrated as six women came together after six weeks of learning with Rebbetzen Chaya Goodwin to mark their own Bat Mitzvah.
Linda Bradstock, Yvonne Harris, Nicole Franklin, Sharon Barnett, Brenda Bean, and Natalie Rose each embraced this special opportunity—one that had not been part of their lives at the traditional age of 12. Their journey culminated in a heartfelt and inspiring ceremony that reflected not only personal growth, but also courage, commitment, and a deep connection to their heritage.
A highlight of the celebration was the sharing of each woman’s D’var Torah. Every reflection was unique, thoughtful, and deeply personal, offering insight into their individual journeys and the meaning they found in this experience. It was evident that this was more than a ceremony—it was a moment of transformation and pride for each participant.
We followed the celebration, with an array of food with home cooked cakes and pastries.
We invite you to continue sharing in this special occasion. Booklets containing all of their Divrei Torah are available in the foyer for you to read at your leisure. Each one is truly worth your time.
Mazal Tov to all the women on this remarkable achievement!
