Cockfosters and N Southgate Synagogue enjoyed a ‘Back to School’ themed Purim party, with around 90 people in attendance.

The party featured school dinners and sports day games, including egg and spoon race, three-legged race and tug of war.

Graeme Kirk said: “It was enormous fun. Everybody really got into the spirit of it. The hall looked great with balloons and a makeshift running track, and the sponge pudding and custard were pure nostalgia!”

Rabbi Meir Shindler said: “The Purim evening event was full of laughs, camaraderie and festive cheer – a great time was had by everybody.”
