Hampstead Garden Suburb members enjoyed an unforgettable Shabbaton filled with connection, inspiration, and a strong sense of community last weekend. The Shabbaton led by Rabbi Marc and Rebbetzen Lisa Levene, had a varied and full programme ranging from mindfulness sessions and games to engaging talks and meaningful prayer.
Highlights included a thought-provoking shiur from Chazan Avromi and two insightful session from Rabbi Dr Rafi Zarum, alongside uplifting tefillot and plenty of opportunities to relax and bond.
Rabbi and Rebbetzen Levene said “It was wonderful bringing the community together to celebrate the beauty of Shabbat. This event would not have been possible without the HGSS Shabatton Committee who worked tirelessly to create this very special weekend. It highlights the vital role that volunteers play in creating meaningful shul activities for which we are very grateful.”
Barry Landy who attended shared, “As a single event this past Shabbat is the best in our experience – kol hacavod to everyone.” Shimon Cohen added, “That it was perfect in every way demonstrates just how much planning went into it. It was a huge success and I am so very grateful.”
Deborah and Philippe Katz called it “an unforgettable Shabbos… a showcase of communal and diverse colours of modern orthodoxy.”
Keith Barnett summed up the atmosphere: “The activities, food and accommodation were all superb, but most of all, the Shabbaton succeeded on every level in fostering a real sense of togetherness and communal spirit.”
It was a true celebration of community—an experience that will be remembered for a long time to come.
