Report from Judy Lyons:
On Thursday evening, Ann and Anthony Robinson, Estelle and I attended the Mitzvah Day awards at South Hampstead Synagogue. Our Shul was shortlisted for an award, Outstanding British Mitzvah Day Team, which is an honour in itself although we did not win. However, our own Ingrid Segal won the Mitzvah Mensch award for her sterling work in all aspects of voluntary contributions. She was one of only two who won this award, so very well done, Ingrid, you are a true woman of worth.
A great evening was had by all listening to the amazing work done by the volunteers in all communities, including inter faith communities, too. Their time and devotion given by these people is second to none, and we applaud them all.
Waitrose, the Carpenders Park Garden Centre and Elim Church were also shortlisted and received certificates. So congratulations and Mazel Tov to all.
Our thanks to Ingrid Segal, Sue Morgan, David Levy, Judy Lyons, Ann Robinson and all involved in Mitzvah Day 2024.
