A new Jewish nursery is opening in September at Muswell Hill Synagogue. Gan on the Hill is opening following the closure of Yeladenu Preschool in July 2024.
Gan on the Hill is an independent, fun, caring and nurturing nursery which welcomes children of all faiths. We are predominantly child led and follow your child’s interests to foster their love of learning through play, whilst building a strong sense of independence and creativity among many other life long skills and memories.
• Gan on the Hill takes babies from 9 months old to children aged 4 when they start school
• We are open from 8am – 6pm Mon to Thurs and 8am – 12pm on a Friday
• We are open 46 weeks a year – closed for the Jewish holidays including Pesach and one week at Christmas and in the summer
• We accept government funding (15 and 30 free hours)
• If you’re intending to send your child to a Jewish school, you can get your Certificate of Religious Practice (CRP) by attending Gan on the Hill
• We have a specialist Education Consultant and 4+ tutor joining who will prepare children for school and those taking their 4+ assessments, multilingual staff (Hebrew & Spanish), the children visit a Jewish Care home each week where they do a music class alongside residents, we have a Shabbat party each week, learn about festivals as well the EYFS curriculum, plenty of arts and crafts, cooking, dancing and playing outside!
Gan on the Hill is founded by a former Yeladenu mum and Muswell Hill shul member, Rachel Brahams who was devastated that Yeladenu was closing and a childminder from Borehamwood, Michelle Levene who has been working in Early Years for over 30 years and runs the successful Jolly Tots group in Borehamwood.
