Pesach, matzah and Gemarah for Pinner ladies who lunch

Forty ladies enjoyed a pre-Pesach Lunch and Learn session, led by Pinner Rabbi Jason Kleiman, held at the synagogue, which also celebrated a successful conclusion to the first term of the brand new Pinner Ladies’ Shiur.

The shiur was the brainchild of Pinner Synagogue member Mel Lawson, who, after initial positive feedback from the community, set up the group with a view to it becoming a valuable addition to the Pinner Synagogue weekly study programme spearheaded by Rabbi Kleiman.

Since the inaugural meeting late last year, the Ladies’ Shiur has gone from strength to strength, with an eclectic mix of subject-matter, underpinned by original sourcework and always many questions from participants!

At the lunch, Rabbi Kleiman gave fascinating insights into the reasons behind several aspects of the Seder service, as well as much practical advice about preparing for Pesach in the home.

Pinner member Doreen Samuels, summing up the event, said that “there was a great atmosphere at the lunch here today,” adding that “We look forward to arranging many more such events in our Pinner Ladies’ Shiur group in the future”.
