Pre-Rosh Hashanah Family Fun Day at St. John’s Wood

Last Sunday, 14 September, St. John’s Wood Synagogue welcomed over 150 people, including 80 children, to a lively Pre-Rosh Hashanah Fun Day in the Moritz Gertler Hall. Families enjoyed a wonderful range of activities, from Shana Tova card decorating and honey jar making to a lively music circle for our youngest members (0–3s) with Illana Banana. The children also enjoyed the inflatable fun!

A highlight of the day was Rabbi Toby Weiniger’s engaging shofar workshop, where children and parents alike discovered the sounds of the shofar and the deeper meaning behind them, in preparation for hearing it in shul on Rosh Hashanah next week.

Now in its fifth year, the Rosh Hashanah Fun Day has become a much-loved tradition at St. John’s Wood. It was a fantastic way to launch our Primary School events season and bring together community members and the Mimi Dwek Hebrew School for a wonderful morning, setting the tone for a joyful and inspiring year ahead.
