Last Shabbat, The Sheffield community marked 25 years since the first Shabbat in the new Kingfield Shul, when the community moved from the old Wilson Road Synagogue.
The service was followed by a talk from the chair of the building committee on the conception, design and build of the shul. After the service, a special kiddush was held to mark the occasion.
The following day, the Sheffield congregation hosted their annual Hospital Sunday service and tea. This event has been taking place for over one hundred years to raise money for the local hospitals.
Over 130 people attended including local dignitaries an MP, the Mayor of South Yorkshire and the Lord Mayor of Sheffield. After the service was a tea and speeches from the invited guests.
There was a collection which raised £3200, which is to be given to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
