Last Shabbat, Wembley celebrated three years in their not-so-new home. Rabbi Michael Laitner, originally from Wembley, reflected that although we now reside in a new building, we brought the Mishkan with us, together with the kehillah, ensuring that our community has remained active, vibrant and ever closer.

Charles Vitez also expressed sincere thanks to all the members who have undertaken leadership roles so essential to securing the future of our Shul.

Earlier in the year, we marked Women’s Shabbat. Women’s Officer, Barbara Hart, reminded the us of some of the extraordinary women who have been part of our community. She spoke in particular of “The Angel of Wembley”, Edith Andresier, z’l’, whose kindness, love and care were felt by all, as wellas paying a heartfelt tribute to Lady Amelie Jakobovits, z’l’, whom she described as an outstanding leader of Jewish women, sharing personal memories that clearly illustrated why this was so.
