In recognition of the US Women’s Shabbat, Wembley Shul members were privileged to hear Myrna Glass, Headteacher of Wembley’s Yavneh School until it closed, who spoke on the importance of Jewish women and the contributions they have made throughout time. Women in the home, in the community and in the world at large.

She spoke of the heroines of biblical times and present-day Israel fighting in defence of their people and country they love.

We are happy that in 2025 our society favours equality, but there is still a way to go before that is totally achieved. Today, we celebrate the Jewish women of the present and the future.
