A Family Affair at Barnet Shul

Barnet United Synagogue recently had the honour of sharing Shabbat with not one, but two Rabbi Listers as Rabbi David and Rebbetzen Rachie Lister visited their son, Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lister.

The senior Rabbinic couple, who serve the Edgware United community, were warmly welcomed by the Barnet congregation, where Rabbi Moshe Chaim has been leading since the beginning of the year.

Rabbi David Lister shared his appreciation: “We had a wonderful time with the fantastic Barnet United community, who welcomed us warmly into the beautiful shul and made us feel right at home. Our son and I both turned around whenever someone said ‘Rabbi Lister’ – but that was just a fun hazard of the visit! It was also great to enjoy some family time with Rabbi Moshe Chaim, Miri, and the kids.”

His son, Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lister added: “It was lovely that my parents were able to visit Barnet and see for themselves what a great community it is. In the short time I’ve been here, I’ve been made to feel so welcome – and I’m proud to say that the same warmth and love was extended to my parents during their visit.”

In addition to a well-attended Shabbat morning service, around 70 members of the community gathered later for a Mincha and special Seuda tea at the shul, which featured delicious food and an engaging Q&A session.
