The United Synagogue’s Centre for Rabbinic Excellence (CRE) and Safeguarding team organised a morning of ‘Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults’ training attended by over 60 United Synagogue Rabbis and Rebbetzens. This was followed by a presentation by Jewish Women’s Aid on how Rabbis and Rebbetzens can identify abuse and support women in our communities.
Rabbi Liss, Director of CRE said: “There are many challenges in leading a community, but knowing that we are not alone and have experts to turn to is a great source of comfort. Thank you to Nicole Williamson, Claudia Kitsberg and to the JWA team for designing and delivering these excellent sessions.”
Jo Grose, Chief Executive of the United Synagogue, said: “Safeguarding is of paramount importance to the US. This training reflects not just our commitment to protecting the vulnerable, but also our legal and moral imperatives. Together, we can hopefully ensure our communities are safe spaces for all.”
