We are thrilled to share the news that Arturo Mejuto, our cemetery foreman at Willesden Jewish Cemetery, has successfully completed the City and Guilds Stonemasonry Heritage Course, bringing a wealth of new skills to enhance the unique heritage site at Willesden Jewish Cemetery (WJC). With Grade II listed buildings and monuments, WJC warmly welcomes visitors to immerse themselves in the rich and vibrant history of the Jewish people buried here, exploring their communities and legacies.

Arturo’s new skills include:

  • Bankers stonemasonry techniques: Precision cutting and handcrafting stone
  • Producing drawings and templates by hand
  • Marking out and producing complex stone components
  • Carving & Letter cutting
  • Repair and maintenance of historic stonemasonry
