United Synagogue and St. John’s Wood Synagogue wish a hearty mazal tov to Rabbi Toby Weiniger on receiving his Rabbinic Ordination (‘Semicha’) from Rabbi S. F. Zimmerman, Rov & Av Beis Din of the Federation. Rabbi Weiniger and his wife Bracha joined the St. John’s Wood community as Youth Directors in July 2021. They now serve as Youth Rabbi and Rebetzin, with particular responsibility for children & youth, families and education. They have spearheaded a variety of programmes and events to inspire and engage the community, inclucing the highly successful St. John’s Wood summer camp and an immensely popular Shabbat morning speaker series for teens.
Rabbi Weiniger studied at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Israel for several years. He graduated with a first-class law degree from LSE in 2022 and is actively pursuing a career in law alongside his Rabbinic remit.
Bracha studied at MMY seminary Israel and holds a Msci in Chemistry in Medicinal Chemistry from Imperial. In addition to her role at St Johns Wood Synagogue, she is pursuing a PhD in Chemical Biology at Imperial College London.
The Weinigers live in St. John’s Wood with their daughter Meira.
