More than 100 people attended a special event at the US Sheffield Synagogue last Sunday evening 6th October 2024 to commemorate the Hamas Attack of 7 October 2023.
Special invited guests included The Mayor of South Yorkshire Mr Oliver Coppard, Mayor of Rotherham Councilor Sheila Cowen, Lord Scrivens and the Rt Hon Louise Haigh MP for Sheffield Heeley together with a number of Councilors from Sheffield and Rotherham.
Rabbi Y Golomb conducted the services with a number of Psalms and prayers. In his sermon he reflected on the events of one year ago.
We had the honour of hearing a first hand experience of the Hamas Attack from Nitzan Schlenzinger who’s father Asaf, a paramedic, was murdered at the Nova Music festival.
Nitzan explained how her life has been effected by the murder of her father and the whole audience was spell bound for the entire duration of her talk. Rea and coffee were served afterwards where people were able to speak with Nitzan first hand.
