On Sunday 28 September The Catford Synagogue Hall was turned into not the theatre of Dreams but the Theatre of Music . Friends of Honorary Life President Joe Burchell who were current and retired singers and musicians from Covert Garden and other famous Opera houses .
They gave a really fantastic performance of Arias from famous operas in the first half and in the second half famous songs from West End Musicals including Fiddler of Roof, South Pacific ,Guys and Dolls and others . Our famous Ladies Society provided a grand supper of Salt Beef and salads . The Hall was filled to capacity and everyone Young, Old, and very Old including our friends from Nightingale House had a wonderful evening . Standing ovations after and every song . Also a young Lady who played the violin so beautifully .
This was NOT a fund raising event but to bring some joy to our members and friends to start 5786 in a good way .
