The sun shone on Barnet this weekend as over 60 people gathered for Barnet Shul’s New Members Barbecue. The event, hosted by a member of the community, provided a wonderful opportunity to welcome and celebrate new members in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Rabbi Lister welcomed everyone on behalf of himself, Rebbetzen Lister and the Council representatives, who were also in attendance, and encouraged people to connect whilst enjoying the delicious barbecue expertly cooked by Barnet shul volunteers.
Throughout the afternoon, members mingled, made new connections and learnt more about the community. People of all ages and backgrounds, from young children to seniors, came together to enjoy wonderful food, laughter and a shared sense of Jewish identity.
After the event, Rabbi Lister commented that the barbecue had been “a perfect reflection of what makes the Barnet community so special: bringing people together at every age and stage of life, fostering meaningful connections, and ensuring everyone feels they belong”.
He added: “We look forward to welcoming our new members at future events and helping them become an integral part of shul life.”
