Compassionate Café launched last week, with 20 people joining the inaugural meeting. A simple question, ‘what brought you here?’ led to people sharing experiences, finding common ground and reflecting on the lifelong impact of grief.
Knowing we are not alone in our experiences and feelings can be comforting for many, and hearing how people respond to life’s challenges can help us find our own way.
Compassionate Café provides a place to be yourself, without judgement, in a safe and confidential setting. It’s a relaxed space, with time to chat over a cuppa alongside the group conversation.
Set up by Mill Hill Bereavement Befrienders and Edgware Cares, in partnership with US Chesed, the group meets monthly in these shuls, and is open to all US members. The next session will be on Wednesday 22nd July, 7.00 – 8.30.
A participant said: “I wanted to thank you all for your efforts on the first meeting. I did feel an inner peace the next day.”
