Happy birthday Esther!

Following the Wembley Shabbat service, Esther and Sidney Grant generously hosted a celebratory lunch in honour of Esther`s landmark birthday (sh!! do not say my age, but you can say 8 plus 0).  

Smiles and laughter filled the Vitez Hall, but there were some tears as well as Esther spoke of the huge disappointment in that her two daughters were unable to come from Israel because of the war.

Nevertheless, she was happy to celebrate with the Wembley Family.

Esther told how she had originally come from Israel to the UK as a student expecting to be here for two years, but 55 years later, after meeting and marrying Sidney, she was still here.  Her life has been centred on teaching, acting as an Ambassador for Israel and being a wife and mother and we joined her in hoping she would continue to do all those things for many years to come.

The Lunch concluded with Sidney paying loving tribute to his wonderful wife and Charles Vitez thanking Esther and Sidney for inviting us all to be part of Esther`s special day.
