Celebrating Jewish Culture Month 2026: A Nationwide Festival of Heritage, Creativity and Community

From 16 May to 15 June 2026, communities across the UK will come together to celebrate the very first Jewish Culture Month a nationwide initiative highlighting the richness, diversity and enduring contributions of British Jewish life.

This month-long celebration invites individuals, organisations, and local communities to take part in a vibrant programme of events, from art and music to talks, workshops, and guided walks. Jewish Culture Month is more than a festival. It is an opportunity to explore stories, traditions, and creative voices that have shaped the UK’s cultural landscape.

A Celebration for Everyone

Jewish Culture Month is designed to be inclusive and accessible, welcoming people of all backgrounds to engage with Jewish heritage and contemporary culture. Whether you’re attending a talk, joining a workshop, or simply exploring an exhibition, there are countless ways to get involved.

Across the country, synagogues, cultural institutions, and community spaces will host events that shine a light on Jewish creativity and history. Among those taking part is the United Synagogue, supporting a range of initiatives that bring people together through shared cultural experiences.

Highlights at the House of Life

One of the standout venues for this year’s programme is the House of Life at Willesden Jewish Cemetery, a unique heritage site blending history, memory, and creativity. A series of engaging events will take place here throughout the month, offering visitors a chance to connect with Jewish culture in meaningful and inspiring ways.

Featured events include:

  • Creative Workshop: Sketch & Connect – An opportunity to explore artistic expression while engaging with the site’s rich heritage.
  • Celebrating Nina Salaman’s Life and Poetry – A tribute to the influential poet and activist, bringing her words and legacy to life.
  • Talk: Seeking Refuge – Jewish Architects and the RIBA Refugee Committee – A fascinating look at the role of Jewish architects in Britain and their contributions during times of displacement.
  • Guided Walk: Creativity Unwrapped at Willesden Jewish Cemetery – Discover stories of creativity and resilience through a guided exploration of this historic space.

Special Event: Jewish Artists in Britain

A key highlight of the programme is a special talk featuring Tatiana, who will explore the impact and legacy of Jewish artists in Britain. This event, organised in collaboration with the Board of Deputies, offers a unique perspective on artistic contributions and cultural identity.
