If you are looking for a warm and reflective space to host your family and friends after a levaya (funeral) or stonesetting, our Melvyn Hartog Hall at Waltham Abbey Jewish Cemetery is available to hire for your gathering.

Hall hire includes:

  • Private hire of the space for one hour* (starting 45 minutes after the time of the levaya or stonesetting).
  • Waiting staff on hand to help serve tea and coffee. Juice and water will be provided for guests to help themselves.
  • Tables and chairs as required.
  • Mugs, glasses, plates and cutlery as required.
  • Set up of the room (the room can be set up as a reception event or with trestle tables and chairs. All tables will be covered with linen).
  • Cleaning following the event.

Hall hire charge: £300

(Includes two hours of waiting staff at a cost of £60 inclusive of VAT. If additional hours are required, they will be charged at the standard hourly rate of £240.)

Payment is required in full upon booking. You are entitled to a refund of 50% for cancellation up to three months prior to the event.

Catering options

For an additional charge, we can provide food for your gathering, supplied by Daniels Catering (KLBD-supervised). All food orders need to be sent to our Cemeteries Maintenance Department, and paid for in full, up to one month prior to the event. There is an additional £60 charge for delivery to Waltham Abbey.
