Purim is one of our most joyful and meaningful holy days, when we come together to celebrate the miracles recorded in the Book of Esther. Megillah readings are often lively and filled with noise and excitement, which is part of the tradition, but we understand that this atmosphere is not ideal for everyone. Some of our synagogues are offering quieter/low noise readings, creating a calmer environment for children and adults who may find large crowds or loud noise overwhelming.
These readings ensure that everyone can take part in hearing the Megillah in a way that feels comfortable and inclusive. The following shuls are offering quiet/ low noise readings.
| Borehamwood & Elstree | There are several low noise services Mon & Tue on both sites for adults and youth |
| Bushey | TBC |
| Edgware | Tue 12 noon |
| Hadley Wood | One-to-one megillah reading given on request |
| Hampstead Garden Suburb | Mon 6.40pm, in the shul library |
| Mill Hill (Adiel Krieger Hall) | Mon 6.30pm |
| Finchley (Kinloss) | Mon 6.25pm & Low Sensory Purim experience on Sun 1st Mar 10.30am |
| Radlett | Tue 9.30am |
